BPT Overview

Beijing Public Transport Holdings,Ltd (BPT) is a large state-owned enterprise mainly operating surface public transport. By the end of 2007, BPT has 25,368 operating vehicles of various kinds and 823 bus routes, with annual mileage and passenger trips topping 1.67 billion km and 4.09 billion respectively, accounting for 84 percent of the total by transit modes in Beijing. BPT consists of 29 subordinate units, including 14 branch companies, 11 share-holding subsidiaries and 4 affiliated institutions. Registered staff amounts to 104,452 persons . Mainly engaging in passenger transportation, BPT is a large-scale group with diversified investment and various economic sectors, also involving in vehicle service, car-rental, real estate development, bus advertising, materials procurement and sales, communication, tourism, restaurants, commerce, building management and public transport research.
